Start of something old? new?

So this weekend was bit of a whirlwind... opening for the Marcels, getting in the paper, having my song selected for a feature spot on ReverbNation, my song now trending on ReverbNation... it is just a lot...












I am starting to feel like maybe God is saying I am supposed to sing... but He wants me to sing His word... So much of my career I felt like I was treading water and pushing against something... Now with this song it seems to be falling into place. Maybe I am over reacting to a little good news or maybe I am finally seeing the good news for what it is...




So today I made a leap. I bought the rights to sell downloads on iTunes for the song 'Tell Your Heart to Beat Again'. Maybe it is a complete waste of money and time... but maybe it is an opening. I don't anticipate making money on it but I would love to have some response. I gave a few people copies via CD and some people have said they listen to it every day! One person says she starts her day with it everyday and it is her new favorite song. I love that people are listening to good news in part because of me! That is pretty awesome!

Accidentally opened for the Marcels!?

So Friday 6/23 I went to see a good friend Walt Maddox. He was my first real manager back in Pittsburgh. On another note he was part of the Marcels, the huge musical group behind the number one song 'Blue Moon'. I used to record at his studio in Pittsburgh and he took an interest in me and believed in me. He and the Marcels were playing in Ohio relatively close to me on Friday. Of course I had to go! My parents went with me :) When we got there Walt asked if I had my tracks... I said no and laughed... I thought he was kidding... Then he was serious so I said I could use tracks on my phone... and that is what I did! The Shades of Blue were finishing their set and then I was up next! In my jeans and dirty tennis shoes and the shirt I took from my mom haha To be fair I had volunteered to open for him if he wanted me to months ago but we had not discussed it since then. He is a truly awesome guy. He has so much confidence in me it really is amazing :) I

Starting a blog... about time?

So for years now people have told me I should start a blog. Mostly because of my rollercoaster dating life probably but... we will see... maybe it will be good to keep all my thoughts in one place. Topics within this blog: - daily life - weight loss - dating - travel - budgeting I guess that is a start right? Direction is good :)
